This LTM is dedicated to insomnia! Did you know that roughly 1 in 3 adults worldwide have insomnia symptoms, and about 10% of adults meet the criteria for insomnia disorder? Plenty of us are not having an easy time getting to sleep!
First off, just know if you experience insomnia or have trouble with sleeping, you are not alone! Secondly, know that there are treatments available, ranging from cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) to different medications, and everything in between. A lack of sleep can negatively affect our lives in countless ways; it can cause significant amounts of stress, an increase in our need for caffeine, and an increase in substance use (just to name a few).
Today, we’ll look at different resources to help with falling asleep and staying asleep!
