Helping Hands

Welcome back to our second edition of Letter to Myself! This month we’ll be looking at self-care and why it is so important! Self-care is not just something you do when going through a difficult time, as it is also an excellent preventative measure and technique to maintain stability. The activity/action can be as basic or as complex as you want it to be! The only thing that dictates whether or not it is self-care is the intention. For example, going for a walk is a simple part of many people’s daily routine, but it becomes self-care as soon as you tell yourself “I am doing this because it makes me feel good.” You probably already do so many things in your day-to-day that could be considered self-care (including reading this newsletter!) so the moment you begin to do them with conscious, positive intentions is the moment you are successfully using this technique.
