Letter to Myself 014: The Motivation Mountain

Letter to Myself 014: The Motivation Mountain

This LTM, we’re looking at how to manage your motivation.

Hello,

In the fast-paced world of today, it can be difficult to maintain your motivation for completing tasks or reaching your goals. Many of our daily routines use up the brunt of our time and energy for the day, so it’s no coincidence that some of us struggle with checking off our to-do list.

On top of that, some mental health conditions (such as depressive disorders and ADHD) can directly impact motivation and drive.

If that sounds like you, you are not alone. Every single individual, at one time or another, has had difficulty motivating themselves to accomplish something, and it’s a normal human experience.

Nonetheless, if you’re finding yourself consistently missing deadlines, falling short of your goals, or at the bottom of a never-ending to-do list, it may be worth it to add some new tools to your toolbox! Today, we’ll take a look at some tools to boost your motivation levels, keep track of tasks and goals, and how to balance rest and productivity.

Don't feel ashamed if your productivity falls short of your expectations; however, if you’re noticing a consistent lack of motivation and it’s beginning to affect your day-to-day functioning, it’s worth it to reach out to your support network or a medical provider to discuss further.
